Atiku Abubakar explains why his vote will not count in the 2019 governorship elections

Atiku Abubakar says his vote may not count due to what he described as the “malpractices and irregularities” in the 2019 general election.

The presidential candidate of PDP spoke after voting at Ajiya ward, Yola north local government area of Adamawa state on Saturday.

“Suddenly, I’m not convinced that my vote will count. You can see a very low voter turnout. I believe the last elections were marred by a lot of malpractices. I particularly abhor the participation of the military in electoral process. It’s absolutely unconstitutional and unlawful,” Atiku said.

On how Nigeria can organise a free and fair election in the future, the former vice president of the country responded, “It requires the coming together of all Nigerians and the leadership to be able to redress all the challenges we face in the last elections.”

  1. This country is a sad story. Rigging left and right and there is nothing the so called police can do about it.
