Manchester United might be spending hundreds of millions of pounds very soon on player purchase, according to various reports.
The British football club is preparing a £30 million move for Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler, according to the Daily Mail. Reports also have it that Manchester United are ready to fight Juventus for the signing of Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, who has a £60 million release clause inserted into his current deal, which runs until 2021.
Manchester United have enquired after the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho‘s side are willing to pay the Brazilian midfielder a similar salary to that of record signing Paul Pogba, though Casemiro appears set to stay at the Bernabeu, having already rejected a bid from PSG. Jose Mourinho is also keen for Manchester United to sign Alex Grimaldo from Benfica.
Top of the list is Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, who happens to be so confident he’ll be transferring to Manchester United that he’s already begun telling his Gunners team-mates, according to The Mirror. After Arsene Wenger admitted last week that the Gunners could end up selling Ozil in January, the 29-year-old feels he is set to join Jose Mourinho, his former manager at Real Madrid, at Old Trafford in 2018.
Ozil’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, so Arsenal could attempt to sell him in January to avoid losing him on a free.
Money, money, money!
